About this Project

The Sibley Square historic preservation project in Rochester, NY was a highly successful adaptive reuse initiative that blended modern amenities with significant historic building features. The 40,000-square-foot space includes a signature co-working space located in the historic Sibley Tea Room, as well as private offices and suites, wet labs for biotech companies, a prototyping lab, and common areas.

The renovation of the space cost $16 million. This was paid for with $8 million from New York, $2 million from the federal Economic Development Administration, and $3 million in private donations.
